While at dinner the other day Brigham randomly said "5 plus 2 equals 7!" I was shocked, I didn't know he knew that and of course gave him great praise. So he said it a few more times. We talked a little bit about math and Abby just said "that's so easy, I have known that for a long time" I explained that Briggs was younger and still learning. She asked him if he knew what 8+1 was. He didn't know.
Abby then says, "I learned it in the car the other day"
Seth and I were a little perplexed but, whatever.
That same night Seth was cleaning the car out....He called to me to come look at the car. "remember what Abby said at dinner?"
THIS IS WHAT WE FOUND BY HER SEAT....SHE DID LEARN IT IN THE CAR ALRIIGHT.......
LOOK SHE IS EVEN HAPPY SHE GOT IT RIGHT. Little butt.

A new addition....
Seth and the kids have been wanting a dog for some time now. I have been able to put them off for awhile. Seth really wanted a Beagle and has been, at random, searching. Occasionally we would stop by adoption days at Petsmart and let the kids get their fix of dog petting. However there was never really any dogs we liked, so it worked out.
Sometimes just for something to do on Saturdays we would go looking. We found one online, that looked like it might be worth seeing so we headed that way...with no expectation that we would like it.
We got there and the dog was twice the size of what we thought, a little disappointed we looked at a few others. It was not for us. As we were looking this little girl was being put into a cage straight off the transport from Louisiana, having been saved from a kill shelter. We took her for a walk and, well she was pretty much exactly what Seth had been look for in size and overall look. She is only about 15lbs and maybe 15 inches high. She was sweet, and we decided to give her a shot.
Since she came straight off the transport the rescue group hadn't done any testing and what not, so we had her for a few days and then dropped her off again for her to be properly vetted.
She got shots, was neutered and got an overall check up and we got her back the following week. So far she is a pretty good dog. She is very tolerant of the kids, super sweet, she loves to be petted and so on. She is about two years old and seems to have had someone who had her inside before, because she just wants to be inside on your lap. The kids adore her and her cage. I can keep Emily out of that dang cage.
Here she is... Meet Maggie.

Two...
One Day Old...
One Year Old...
Two Years Old... January 6Th
Yes, Emily is Two. Yes, she is still my baby. I know all of them are still my babies, but she is still an actual baby, at least to me. The past two years have been crazy as she has grown and been able to learn. Emily's personality has really come out this past year and it is awesome. She is so sweet and loving. She also likes to be the center of attention.
Two year stats:
Weight: 26 lbs. (41%)
Height: 34 Inches (65%)
Head Circumference: 67 1/2 CM (50%)
The Doctor said she is right on track to be the same height as me, sorry little one.
Here are some of the things about Emily is this past Year:
1. She finished both Physical and Speech Therapy!!!!
2. She began to say words and just in the past weeks as begun to string words together like "help me momma"
3. She love love loves to sing.
4. She really also loves to dance.
5. She is insanely jealous. She cannot stand for me to snuggle Abby, Brigham and Seth for that matter. She screams and climbs all over them until the relent and then she plops herself on me.
6. She has gotten most of her teeth and experiments with biting her siblings.
7. She again had surgery on her ears because of the excessive number of ear infections after her tubes fell out. She had another set of tubes put in and her adenoids taken out.
8. She loves animals, that is she loves to look at them. Touching or petting them is another story.
9. She loves Abby and Briggs. She calls Briggy "Gigi" which is adorable and asks where Abby and Brigham are all the time.
10. When she goes to bed she has to have her plug, blanket, baby and monkey....or else.
11. She gets into Everything! I cannot turn my back for a moment or she is on the table, into the fireplace, digging in my make up, inspecting the toilet, you name she will get into it.
12. She hasn't quite gotten a handle on sharing. She cannot stand for anyone to have anything she could possibly want to play with in the future.
13. The first thing she does when she wakes up is asks for breakfast and ask where Abby is.
14. She absolutely hates to have her ears checked. Whenever we walk into the doctor she covers her ears. Then when its time to check, well she has to be pinned down.
15. She is pretty good natured, she is really good with others and only cries for a few minutes when we leave her.
16. She has the cutest laugh. She loves to watch shows and giggle. Not to mention tackle Abby and Briggs which she thinks is a great source of entertainment.
17. She is really good at eating on her own. I typically give her any meal and in general she feeds her self with adult utensils. I rarely give her kiddie spoons.
18. She is a blood hound when it comes to food. If she thinks your headed to the kitchen, she is on you like a hawk. She loves to eat, there is no doubt about it.
19. She hates water. If I give a Sippy cup of water she throws it back at me.
20. She has recently learned to throw tantrums. Nothing like Abby or Brigham ever did, but she has a flare for the dramatic. She has a pair of lungs on her and she wants you to know it. But, the problem is its usually too cute or funny to get mad at. Not always but generally.
This little girl really is such a special addition to our family. All of us absolutely adore her. Abby cannot stand for Emily to be in trouble and Brigham loves to help her. She has Seth and I wrapped around her little fingers (although I know Seth wouldn't admit it.) Everyone she encounters just loves her. She is such a little doll and a light in our lives. Happy Birthday Emily. We love you more than you can ever know and look forward to the years to come.

Project Loft Bed
We have discussed for several years ways we can make more space for the kids in their rooms. Of course bunk beds have been the easiest solution, at least for the girls. We found some plans online for a loft bed with room underneath for playing and we decided to try it out. We figured if it worked well in Brigham's room we could convert it easily enough for the girls into a bunk bed. Considering the cost of Bunk Beds in retail stores, home made from scratch was our best option.
We got all the lumber from Home depot started this project rolling. Seth cut the pieces and pre-drilled all the wood. Then I went to work staining everything. Once everything was cut and dried we began the work with assembly. All in all it took about 2 days. Totally worth it for the amount of money we saved. Not to mention the kids love it!

Once it was completed the kids wanted their pictures taken with it all the time. Here are a few with the mostly finished product. We still want to put little curtains underneath it so he can make a little fort. Maybe throw some bean bag chairs under it too and eventually put a TV on the wall so when we have company the kids can go and watch a movie :)

Frozen
| Ready and waiting |
It was a cute movie, with adorable music. Totally not what we expected but it was worth the Arm and the leg that movies cost these days.

Christmas Day
As predicted, the kids woke up at 5:30am. This is fairly typical for Brigham to wake up this early on a daily basis so we knew it would be no different on Christmas Morning. Emily however slept longer. While we were waiting for her to wake, the kids opened their stocking's and Santa presents. Abby got Stompeez from Santa and Briggs got Ninjago Legos. Plus they both had pretty loaded stalking's.

For Christmas Dinner we went to Seth's Parents house with all the rest of the Whitworth clan. It was a fun Crazy time. The kids opened presents from each other and the grandparents, and we opened presents from them as well. We had a delicious dinner and fun cousin time.
