Emily's First day of Pre-school Ever!!

Emily is officially in preschool!!! She has been so excited about it for awhile now. All last year she wanted to stay with Brigham at Pre-k and now her turn has finally arrived and she absolutely loves it!!!! I originally had her signed up for Brigham's old school. But after a lot of thought and out of convenience we changed her to the preschool that Seths aunt runs. It will be so nice especially when the baby is born. The best part is she seriously loves it. Everyday when I pick her up the first thing out of her mouth is that was so fun can we go back?

This has been the best transition from home to preschool yet!! I think it really helped that she went to several summer camps there this year and she has thrived. I love that she loves it. It makes me so happy that we switched and that we were able to get in because it was full but things managed to work out.

 She is also very excited about her backpack and lunch box it makes her feel like such a big kid!!!
No matter what though she is still my baby!

The very first day of school I asked Emily what she learned at school and her response was "crap" and it took me back a bit and I asked her again with the same answer. No matter what I asked her she would respond "crap" Thus when we got home I repeated the conversation and this is what was said...little goof!

Well he did it! 3 years of Preschool and now Brigham is officially a Kindergartner!!!  He seemed to really like his new school. He went 4 days a week this year which is double what he had been used too. He really liked both of his teachers and would always be sad on his Monday explorer day class that had different teachers.

 

Emily will start this school next school year which is crazy!! Although she will only go 2 days a week.

Brigham had his end of the year Spring program last week. Each class took a turn singing a song they and then they did a big group number at the end. It was really cute and Brigham did really well. He doesn't seem to have stage fright when it comes to these kinds of things which is so wonderful. He was very excited and was singing his song all week, so much so that we all knew the words to it.

After the performance we were invited to go to the classroom where they had some work displayed and a really cute little scrapbook made for each child. He was very proud to show it all off. Then we all headed for a treat at Dairy Queen.

School Programs and Parties

Brigham's preschool had a music program and then his class party. He was so handsome and did so well. We haven't had any problems or issues  with him being willing to be on stage. I am very thankful for this as Abby had such a hard time. Now its not that big of a deal. His class sang songs and then they had a school sing along. It was cute.

 After the program it was party time. All the parents got together and donated money for gifts and what not. The kids were lining up to give the teachers flowers.

 Abigails school does not often have parties but they did do a holiday party. I was able to take nems to grandmas house so I could attend. She was very excited that I came. She just loves it when I visit her school.

 See the disappointment? She was not happy that for the book exchange she received a boy book! She tried desperately to negotiate a swap with other kids. I eventually convinced to swap with another kid who got a baby book and told her she could wrap it and give it to Emily. Win, win.

Pre-Halloween Festivities

Boo Bash!

The week before Halloween the YMCA had their Annual Boo Bash.  They have bounce houses, games, food and fun. The kids were happy to wear their costumes and play. In reality, it was kind of lame. There were a ton of people, the kids were a bit scared of everything, and it was a little overwhelming. We went last year with better success. But they received treats, got to dress up and we  spent time with the family. So I call that a win. Plus they got to test out their costumes.

 Preschool Parade

Brigham had a preschool parade and party at his school this year. He wore his costume and they went all around the whole school. He thought he was pretty cool stuff. I was able to stay for the parade, but the party was later in the afternoon and siblings were not allowed. So unfortunately I had to miss it. But he had a great time nonetheless.

We had planned on carving pumpkins for family home evening the Monday before Halloween. Unfortunately Seth was out of town and so we had to wait. The kids were bummed. We did it the night before Halloween instead. Pumpkin carving is always an adventure with kids.
