I have been trying to wait as long as possible to introduce Hyrum to food. Over the course of the last couple weeks he has shown several signs that he is ready. But I was not. Its kinda a pain in the rear. Its messing, it takes time, it requires muti-tasking etc. But one night when he wasn't feeling well I gave him some medicine and he sucked it down wishing for more.
I knew it was time and the next day he started food right around 5 and 1/2 months old.
I was totally anticipating food flying and a huge mess, but it was completely uneventful. He ate as if he has known how all along. Perhaps its because he is older than most of my kids when I started them. Maybe he is just so mature and sophisticated now... :)
I just love all these pictures. He is such a good little boy. We love him so.
This video is from the second or third time eating it was a bit messier than the first but not by much.
He now has squash, carrots and apples in his food list.
