SpringBreak 2016

Spring Break 2016 was rather laid back this year. I had all these plans in my head on what we were going to do and where we were going to go and they all just kinda flew out the window and we ended up just taking it a day or two and a time.

Abigail went to a one day art camp with her cousin Isabelle and her buddy Kiera. They did such a great job! They all had a really good time and have proudly displayed their works of art. While they were there Briggs and Nems had their own coloring camp at home.

After the camp Briggs had a friend over and the girls all came to and we had one big play date filled with lots of running, snacks, coloring, snacks, playing and more snacks.

This kid turned 5 Months old during spring break! Its crazy how big he is. I love his chunky little self. He loves to laugh at the kids and its soooo cute!

Initially the intent for Spring Break was for Seth to take some time off and to get out of town for a few days. But because we weren't sure if he was going to be able to take it off or not we waited on getting a hotel. Unfortunately that wasn't a good plan since all the hotels were booked. Thus we ended up taking a day and going to Fossil Rim. It ended up being a great experience and only cost an arm and a leg. We got there pretty early and we went right in. However by the time we left it was crazy town! The line to even get in the parking lot was ridiculous.

Abby ready to see some animals

The kids deciding what types of animals they want to see and ready to hit the road.

Hyrum wasn't happy in his seat so he rode shotgun with me

Its so fun that the animals come right up to the car!

Hyrum already starting to practice for his Drivers License

The kids had a good time feeding the animals right from their hands!

He wasn't as impressed as the others and fussed quite a bit.

There were some pretty Views along the drive

I love the look on this creatures face

About to get licked

I was really hoping for some action with a giraffe. They were really close to the car but were not interested in visiting with us.

Emus look like they should have arms

Half way through the drive you can get out and see the petting zoo, visit the shop and eat if you want.

Goats of the mountain

Saying hi to the free roaming goat

Like father like son

Hyrum loves Abigails glasses

How Tall Are You?

We also spent time with the Irish cousins playing and having a good time.

Outside time

Our peach tree in the back yard

Things are blooming in Texas. Which means its time to spend time outside before the deathly heat of summer hits us. We have had some really great weather on and off for the last month or so. Even though it creates allergy problems we can no resist spending time outside.

Emily Flying High

All together now

We bought this fire pit for thanksgiving but the weather wasn't cooperative that day. Since then the weather has been fickle but we finally had a night where we roasted marshmallows and enjoyed the warmth of the flames.

Even Maggie liked it

Just a day where we stopped by this little stream to say hi to the donkeys and cows.

These two...

I have also been trying to get some yard work done. Pruning, trimming, mowing, raking and the like. Since we moved in I have hated these spiral trees. They are  pretty but they made the porch feel very claustrophobic. Finally we chopped them down.  Hallelujah!

Of course this lazy mutt has to bask in the rays of the sun.

We have also been riding bikes in the front while Brigham learns to ride. Which he has accomplished.

Hyrum is such a good little guy and loves to watch his brother and sisters.
