Bluebonnets

On a whim we decided to find some Bluebonnets after church on Sunday. We actually found a really great spot. But since it was the four of us there was no way to take a family pic. But, I do think they turned out pretty well...

Walking in the rain...March For Babies

First off I have to say thank you, thank you, thank you to all those who donated to my walk this year. My expectations were surpassed thanks to everyone's generosity. Thanks to you, I raised $165.00. Way above my goal. Thanks. Its a great cause.
It was a awesome day despite the rain. There were a ton of people there, all with their own reasons for being there. Several had made shirts with birth dates and weights of their children who have survived and who did not make it. It was really hard to see so many people who have had such tragedy in their lives. It brought back a lot of memories of when Abby was born and the emotions that came with her early birth.
My sister Cassidee came with me and we made a day of it. We got there and it was raining so I decided not to take my camera on the actual walk, so I wouldn't ruin it. But we took a few pics before and after by the car. They had some booths set up and did a group warm up to blaring High school Musical music and despite the cheesiness it was a lot fun. We started at nine and Cass and I jumped to the front of the pack. We walked our 3.5 miles, chatted and got rained on most of the time. Honestly I was surprised we were not more wet given the amount of time it rained and misted. It was kind of funny because at one of the water booths they were handing out candy bars too. We were like yeah that's what we want we are all sweaty and working out, how bout a nice candy bar..hello what were they thinking? We were some of the first to finish and they had some festivities set up but we decided to forgo that part of it. Luckily we did because it was like another .5-.75 mile to our car and then it started to really come down.
Doing this has really motivated me to do more things like it. Not necessarily fund raise every time but to do more 5k/10k etc. I cannot wait until next year. Thanks again.Cass getting ready to walk A kind of awkward pic, you cannot really tell how wet I was. It was like spending the morning at sea world.
A big thumbs up for a good cause

Cass and I, we both look awesome, can you tell we kinda rolled out of bed and came?

Zoorific

Last week My sister in law and I took the kids to the Zoo. It was an adventure thats for sure. In all honesty I was expecting it to be a lot harder than it was. I thought all the kids did pretty well. Abby loved going from place to place. Briggs and Izzy were troopers and well speaking for myself I loved it. But I have always loved the Zoo. Aside from getting rained on a few times and Brigham having a massive diaper explosion, nowhere near a bathroom while it was raining, things went well. How the day started. Abby and the flamingosToo bad the gorilla didn't turn around.

I thought this was neat I think they were called Edu's or something like that. This was also really cool the lion was totally roaring when we were there. I dont think I have ever seen that happenWe were able to be in close proximity to some of these animals. This white tiger walked right up to the glass at Abby, to which she promptly jumped back.A random ostrich in with the Giraffes Briggs finally passed out. He crashed hard. Poor little Guy.

Easter Fun

I had to work the day before Easter, however all day I was taking pictures of children with the Easter Bunny. So I had Seth bring the kids by to visit him too. Abby didn't want to sit on him but she would sit next to him and Briggs was content to do whatever, per usual. Later that evening we went to Seth's parents house and had an Easter dinner and egg hunt. Abby learned quickly that Izzy wasn't too interested and commandeered the hunt and amassed all the eggs. Easter Sunday we did Easter baskets, naps, and General Conference. We also went out to fly Abby's kite that the Easter Bunny left her. As you can see in the pictures below. Briggs and Bunny

Holy Hair Do Batman!

I have needed a haircut for a really long time. Really long. But some things are just more important. Finally I had had enough of being attacked by my own mane. It was hot, heavy, not cute and had no style what so ever. So I decided to cough up some dough and actually went to some one who knew what they were doing, and I love it. I bit the bullet and chopped it all off. I donated most of it to Locks of Love. So at least it was good for something other than driving me crazy. I Pretty much gave him free reign and this was the result. I cannot remember the last time I had it this short. But I must say it is nice. After all was said and done it was about 15-16 inches that was whacked off.

Disclaimer: these were all taken from my cell phone and some taken by me so they are not that great. But you can get the gist.

He Hates it

My little Gus Gus has become quite the handful as of late. He never sleeps at night, he just screams. He is teething. He is picky about his solid foods. He wants to be held all the time. He will scream until he is picked up. I am exhausted. On top of that he hates formula.

I don't produce nearly enough milk and so we have been trying to get him to take formula. No luck there. I have tried about 6 different kinds now with no success. My friend suggested a non-cows milk based formula, thinking he may be allergic to the others since he wont drink them or throws them up. I thought that was a good idea and thus tried the two kinds she suggested. Nope that was no good either. He just hates it. This video is actually a very mild response to giving him formula.Typically he screams and cries as well. I don't know what to do because he needs to have that. My measly milk can't be doing him much good and the solid foods are not the best source of nutrition. I have tried powder and pre-mixed, soy based, milk based, hypoallergenic and so on. Anyone have any suggestions? I read somewhere to try to give it while they are sleeping. So I did. He took about to ounces until he woke up realized what I was doing and showed me what he thought of that. Another time he was asleep he wouldn't even let the bottle near him. Its not the bottle either because he drinks the milk I pump just fine from a bottle. He has a sixth sense this one... Argh!

Hidden

I went into Abby's room to get her from her nap. She was not in her bed, thus I looked in the closet, in the bathroom and under the bed. At which time I start to panic because she is nowhere to be found. I yelled to Seth, "where's Abby?" and I start to become frantic looking all around the house making sure doors were locked and she hadn't some how gotten outside with out us knowing. I am yelling her name at this point and about to go over the edge hysteric when I heard a little whimper/grunt. I followed that sound to her changing table where I pull back the barricade she has made, crawled into a box and fallen asleep. My heart was racing to much that day to document it in pictures but a few days later it happened again and this time I knew where to look and to grab my camera.

Her Barricade.

She doesn't quite fit in the box.

Completely asleep inside the box.

Her eye's through the hole in the side.

Crazy Kid. Doesn't it look comfortable?
