Number Six

Well it happened. My baby grew up. Six, I cannot believe it!

I have decided, time is no longer my friend. Despite the fact that some days feel like eternity, the weeks and months are passing by without pause.  I feel like she will be graduating before too long. Heck, she is going to be taller than me before too long.

Abby being embarrassed as we sang happy birthday.
Abigail has always been strong willed and stubborn. She is constantly testing and trying me. We have our ups and downs, and we battle something fierce sometimes. I cannot decide if it is because we are too much alike or not. Her attitude cannot be matched. Case in point, while eating out the other day, a fellow patron overheard the way she was giving me attitude and looked at her and then to me  and said with mouth agape, "she talks just like a teenager." Don't I know it sister, don't I know it!

The fact remains that she will always be my strong willed devils angel and I love her. Rising above her tude, she can be so sweet, loving and kind. She loves to read and help.  She can be so grown up sometimes I am in awe of her maturity.  She loves to dance and sing; only when no one watches. Abigail loves animals, especially horses and has said at times she is going to be an animal doctor.  She is so smart. She understands way more than I think, too much in fact. Sometimes I find myself tearing up at small moments, moments that make me realize she is no longer a baby. Moments where I think that Father time is a cruel man. Moments where I see her snuggled with Emily in her crib being sweet, even if she isn't supposed to be.

Moments, life is full of great moments.

Our newest family member, Clara. Ha! Love that scream.

Emily loves Clara, can you tell?
Our extended family is growing and so we tend to just have family for Birthdays these days due to numbers. But thats OK because family is the best kind of friend. This year we did an ice cream sundae bar. I do have to say it was delicious. I ground up several different candy bars and fruits and of course there was hot fudge and caramel. It was YUM-O.

Abby received a lot of presents too. Including but not limited to, clothes, shoes, books, hula hoop, gift cards, money, a curling iron, jewelry and a bike. She was in wonderland. Thank you to everyone for the gifts!

Car. Ni. Val.

Abigail Had her school carnival Last week. She was so excited to go. We spent the evening playing games, eating, doing bounce houses and spraying her teacher with silly string.  She really enjoyed sharing her school with the family.  Its kinda fun to see her so excited about her life at school, and sad, because she is growing up!
Perfect game for my kids! Lasso the Long Horn

Right on target

Emily was a little miffed that there wasnt much for her todo

MMMMM Soda

Briggs was a little scared of the bounce houses (mostly because it was a little crowded). I loved this moment because Abby stood in line with him and held his hand. So sweet.

Cinco De Muddo

Yes, I signed up for another run.  At least I have fun with friends and get to exercise. I have to say, this was the BEST ONE YET! There were  20 obstacles over 3.1 miles of muddy fun. We ran swam/ran through rivers, climbed over huge wooden walls, dangled over mud pits and slid down slippery slopes. Not to mention plunging into complete darkness and having to find our way to the light, running on a beautiful trail near the river and yanking our legs free from waist deep mud....among many other things!

It was SO. MUCH. FUN. I do have to say that I am extremely sore and have many bumps and bruises, but it was worth it.

Some of the obstacles  from a far.. giant hay bails, balance beams, the wall jump, etc...
