Mad mama Goose...

First and foremost, so many things have happened since I last posted. Thus the reason this blog post is so long. The most important news is this, Abby is fine. Most people don't know but when we took her into her 1 year check up....Stats: 19 1/2 pounds and 30 inches... the doctor heard a heart murmur. That accompanied with the fact that Abby's lips turn blue when she eats prompted the referral to the pediatric cardiologist. Needless to say, that was tough news. All the "what if's" kept racing through my mind. It was hard to sleep at night constantly thinking and praying. Plus I had no idea what they were going to do to her during the test. They did an EKG and a sonogram of her heart and a few other tests I cant think of at the moment. But thankfully many prayers were answered and the cardiologist gave us good news, that there was nothing to indicate that Abby had anything wrong with her. She called it an innocent murmer. She did say that Abby had a PFO which is a tiny hole in the heart but again nothing to worry about considering the fact that 30% of adults have this. Overall Abby did very well during the testing and we were thankful to have that over with and Abigail healthy once again.

We did get to have a little birthday party for Abby with the family and she was very spoiled. She got lots of stuff and it was so funny to watch her eat her cake. She did not like it on her hands so she went for the cake straight to mouth method. Here are some of the pictures...

For the last week we have had some work going on at our house. We replaced the linoleum with tile and it was a big project so Abby and I went to stay at my Dad and Cindy's house. Seth and I also redid our front landscaping which was also a major undertaking. I will post some of the pics when the finishing touches are done. So while we were at my dad we went to see the ducks. Abby loved them. Plus there were little babies all around to oooo and aahhh at. Although there was one mama goose who was not all that nice. She wanted the bread we had and and would hiss at you, frankly she was pretty scary and I did not want her near Abby. Especially since I have been attacked by a rooster myself and seen a turkey go the rounds and Win with my mom. Not to mention all the "When birds go bad" videos I have seen. This lady was even going after the other geese and so I was purposefully chucking the bread really far so she would go away.

These birds were not shy and would come really close. Abby really wanted to hold one.

This is the spawn of Satan herself. As you can she was Hissing at the moment the picture was taken and this was not on zoom, she was that close! If I could interpret.... I would think she is saying "throw me some freakin bread or I will poke your eyes out with my large pointy beak"!

All About Seth!

I was tagged by Codee: All about my HUBBIE!!!
What is his name? Joseph Seth Whitworth

How long have we been together? 5 and a half years counting dating time.

How old is he? 29 on the 18

How long did we date? 15 and a half months before we were married

Who eats more? I would say I do in one sitting, but Seth's a snacker so he snacks all day probably consuming more in a days time.

Who said "I love you" first? He did.

Who is taller? Him, if you didn't notice the whole foot that separates us

Who can sing better? Probably me...but that's hard to say since I have never heard Seth sing a solo or anything, he hardly sings in the car when I am around.

Who is smarter? I think that depends on the subject. Given the classes we took together in college I would say I am, but just in those courses. Overall though I give that one to Seth.

Who does the laundry? Me. Well mostly, I do all of mine and Abby's and most of Seths. But he has more laundry than an elephant would if it wore clothes. I don't understand! So its hard to keep up with his.

Who does the dishes? I would say mostly me with a touch of Seth

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you're looking at the bed, me. Who knows why, that's just the way it is.

Who mows the lawn? I used to before we had Abby. You know since Seth "allergies" were so bad :) But now we have someone do it for us and I can say it looks much better than when I did it.
Who cooks dinner? I do.

Who kissed who first? Depends on who you are asking, but Seth was a little timid when it came to that, so I helped him along.

Who proposed? Seth did, he proposed while we were at the botanical gardens, it was very sweet. I had an inkling that it was going to happen and then as the time passed it didn't so I had given up hope. So then when he actually did it I was surprised.

Who is more stubborn? We are both really stubborn, we would fight that one to the end to get an answer.

Who is more sensitive? That would be me, although living with Seth has thickened my skin a bit.

I tag: Maegan and Natalie

Happy Birthday Sweet Abigail

Today is Abby's first birthday! Its amazing to me that we have actually made it to this day. Looking back on her troubled beginning, the stress, the emotion, the actual physical health problems. To think, one year ago today, our little Abby (and I mean little, 3pounds 1 ounce) came into this world. She was in the hospital for 5 weeks, with IVs, Chest Tube, Ventilator, Feeding tube and a whole slew of other things. It was almost hard to bring her home when the time came, knowing there would be no nurses to come to my aid. She was just over 4pounds when she came home. Nevertheless, we have made it. Abby has grown and exceeded all expectations. Not to mention survived living with her parents. There are very little problems now, mostly just that she is anemic which we will see how she has come along on Friday at her next visit with the Doctor. It is so fun to watch her learn new things and how excited we all get that she can sit by herself or make her way from couch to couch. All in all we have had a very blessed year with her. She is definitely Our child. She looks like her dad, is stubborn just like both of us, and throws fits if she doesn't get what she wants (that's just like her dad, wink wink). We look forward to many more memories we have with her and to watch her grow and learn. Look and see her grow.

See Ya!

She will walk with this thing until she passes out. She just goes back and forth all day long. Today she hit a toy and the thing flipped forward, she had a death grip on it, and it was like watching it in slow motion as she went right over with it (Her little legs flying in the air). She didn't even cry and when I went to pick her up, the walker came with her. Its her new best friend.

Fun on a rug and fun in the Sun

One of Jamison's last times with Abby. They were having so much fun as Seth dragged them all over the house on that blanket. Now Jamison is in Utah and Abby misses him so much!
Look at those pretty ladies, My sister Cass came to town and while Codee was still in town we had our pictures taken. Though I think the ones we took at home might turn out better than the professional ones. We shall see...
Abby with her Aunt Cassidee and Codee. Who knows when they will be able to do that again.
Abby playing in the entertainment center. Although I think she had a little help from dad getting into that position. She is such a little butt.
Abby's first time in a swimming pool. She was not very impressed. The water was a bit chilly so hopefully as it warms up as the summer comes she will like it more. She much preferred being on the raft out of the water, What a little diva!
As you can see again, out of the water was much better than in it.

It even took some coaxing to get me into the water. After Abby's legs were numb :) she stayed in a bit too.

Look at her, its like she is meant to just float around and be waited upon. Thankfully she did not get very sun burned unlike her parents who are currently looking like lobsters!

So many Things so little time......

Codee and Randy finally leased their house so we had a little moving birthday party. My Papa Ken and Franky came as well as the Sturgills. It was my dads, Codee and Randy's birthday so after the move we ate dinner and had cake at my house. Abby was a little unsure of Papa Ken be she warmed up as the night wore on.
This is Abby's new friend Maddy, aren't they cute! This is Mike and Danielle's daughter and she is too cute. Although Abby was eying her hair with some jealousy in her eyes.
Jay and Abby had some time out in the garage playing around. Abby can really go fast in that little walker once it is on some hard ground.
This was just too funny because Abby's little chompers were really showing through.
Then the big day came. This is Curt and Natalie. This is Seth's brother and the newest addition to the Whitworth Clan. We had a good time going to the sealing and then also to the garden reception at her parents house. Following are some of the good shots I got.
This is Uncle Dan and Abby, I must say that this is one of the best smiling pictures of Abby.

Abby in a bucket... and more

Abby was having a great time when we put her in this toy bucket and slid it all around. She just held on as if she was enjoying a nice tour of the living room.
Abby is just too cute after she gets out of the bath, I couldn't resist snapping this shot.
This was Abigail's first time in a swing. We were over at Papa and Nana's for brunch and it was such a beautiful day. Although Abby looks calm in these pics she was not very please with being in the swing. I got a video but haven't been able to post it. Seth's been messing with the hard drive and all the programs are not working right so hopefully soon. Especially since I caught a video of her crawling. Now she goes EVERYWHERE....today she managed to find a dead mosquito eater and was looking at it oh so lovingly when I ripped it from her grasp!

Abby's Top Ten

Jamison has tagged Abby, so here it goes...

1.) Opposite to Jamison, Abby by no means has any desire to be snuggled. You may get it for a second or two but then she is off squirming again. She always wants to move. About the only time you can get a good snuggle is when you are putting her to sleep, and when that happens you must cherish the moment because she will move any instant. Thus I would say her number one thing she loves is to avoid the snuggle!

2.) Abby loves to walk...and walk...and walk. When you set her down the first thing she does is dive for your hands or feet which ever happen to be closer to grab and go. If she is fussy, thats what I do, give her my fingers and let her venture around the house until her little chunk legs give out.

3.) I think Abby is a water baby deluxe. She loves to take baths and to take showers. When she is congested Seth will take a shower with her and she will just lay there letting the water pound her. That is until she notices the shampoo or soap and then she is ready to play.

4.) Abby Loves her Jamison. You would think he hung the moon by the way she laughs and giggles at him. For instance today we were of course walking around the house and Jay would just bump into her every 10 seconds or so and then the chuckling ensues. She also loves to slobber all over him in the course of their play time.

5.) Abby loves to watch people in pain. Is it her or all kids in general? Every time I stub my toe or bump into something and exclaim my pain she has a large smile on her face. Again today I was laying down with her and she had one of Jamison's trains in her hand (its pretty heavy too) and she dropped it. And where does it land? Probably the only place on my body that does not have a thick cushion for padding. Exactly on my ankle bone. Oh boy did that hurt, and yes Abby loved it.

6.) Abby also loves her Belle. When ever she sees belle through the window or inside she makes this funny grunting noise over and over. Sometimes when Abby is being a butt (and yes she can be) I will put her by the window for instant good mood time to watch belle.

7.) The Jump A Roo is where Abby likes to spend time during the day. I think it is because she is trying to gain muscle in her legs so she can walk before she crawls. She loves to play with the toys and listen to the oh so lovely tunes it plays.

8.) Whether this is number 8 or not, Abby loves her dad. Her face lights up when he gets home from work and she cant contain herself. I think she knows when dad gets home it time to play and escape mom.

9.) Abby loves to be outside, to feel the wind on her face and watch everything that is going on. When we go to the park she can just sit there and watch all the kids play. She is just waiting for the time that she can get out there and play along too.

10.) Abby loves to suck on her two middle fingers thus creating a 'hook em horns' emblem on her little face. It is so cute. When ever she is tired she goes right for those little sausage fingers. And when she is really tired she does that with one hand and grabs her ear with the other.
11.)And bonus info, Abby loves to bite with her four little chompers. So beware if you holding her she might try to draw blood.....
