Splash Park

Before school ended, I took the kids to a new (new to us) splash park. First time of the year, and surely not the last. Its cute and has lots of surrounding shade. The weather wasn't too hot that day and of course Briggs was freezing. Emily was a bit reluctant to be in the water. But the next time we went I had to drag her out.  I sure do love these kids!

Abigails Awards

As school comes to a close the awards starts to pile up and everyone gets something. The first grade had a special awards ceremony and since I didn't get to go last year I got a babysitter and went to support Abigail. She received many awards as you hear in the video. Among them are citizenship, eagle excellence, reading, silver medalist for eagle math and her recognition for character award that she received for trust worthiness.

She was so cute and a little shy. On her way up to receive them she had a little stumble. But she recovered like a champ! She waved to the crowed and made her way to the podium. Afterwards she was a little embarrassed, but who hasn't fallen right? Not to mention she handled it so well. What a good job little first (almost second) grade!

Brighams End of Year!!!

Getting ready to go.
This little guy finished preschool for another year! He was so happy to be done, even though he really does love it. I really love the school he goes to and the teachers this year were great. I could tell they really loved him. I am sad we are switching next year but I think it is for the best. He will be five in a few months and will be too bored at home with me most of the week.

He had a little end of the year ceremony at school and said good bye to all his friends. It was a cute night.

What a handsome little dude.

Love that smile

7 Year Well

Abby had her 7 year well child check up a few weeks ago. I cannot however find the sheet with her statistics but I do know she was somewhere in the low 80% for her height and average for her weight. From my totally professional height markings on the wall she has grown 3and1/4 inches in the last year!!! That explains all the horrible crying growing pains she has had. She didn't have to get any shots and is doing well all around!

Since this is an Abby update, here are a few impressive things from school.  She was recently tested for reading and currently is at the level a second grader should be in the middle of the year. She also reads at the fluency rate of a 3rd grader!

For all other reading and math testing she scored at expectation or above expectations. She has improved so much this year! Good job Abby!

Field Day!!!

Nems and Briggs watching the action

Headed to get some water in the relay
Abby had field day and she had been talking about it for several weeks before hand and was so  excited when the day finally came. She loved it! They rotated stations all day, some included water rockets, water games, tug of war, relays, bounce houses and many more. I came for a few of the stations. I had Brigham and Emily there with me and they made it a little difficult to pay attention. But we made it through 3 stations. Emily was pretty much in a crying melt down for the last two so I headed out of dodge. Abby was a upset I couldn't stay longer but thankfully she was quickly distracted by another event. It is always nice to be able to attend these things if I can because the days are passing quickly and I don't believe she will be so excited at my presence in the coming years.

The trips end.

The temple from a distance

We headed home on Sunday :(  We took our time getting ready and then loaded everyone and everything up. We wanted to visit the  San Antonio Temple on the way home. Unfortunately for us the grounds we locked. From the gates it looked beautiful. The drive was uneventful, unless you count too many potty stops. Briggs crashed with about a half hour to go and was a little miffed that we woke him up when we got home. Overall it was crazy, hectic, exhausting, fun, loving, sweaty, beautiful and many more descriptive terms, and totally worth the trip!

Day 3!

Nems on the carousel for the hundredth time

Day three started off with a big scare. When we headed to Sea World that day the kids ran out of the room to the elevators which were around a few corners. We were on the top floor. The whole trip they kept fighting over who got to push the buttons. We were straggling waiting for Emily and we told them to wait. They didn't. We got to the elevators with no Abby and Brigham in sight. I yelled down the halls, nothing. There were two elevators so I stayed while Seth got on one and headed down to the main floor to see if they were there. I waited...just in case they didn't get off and were just riding one up and down. Minutes passed, it felt like hours. Just as Seth called me to say they were not downstairs the elevator dinged. Out they came with one of the maids. PHEW! Seriously I was about to go into mega panic mode. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but apparently they got in and got off on one of the floors, the maid found them and Abby told her the 4th floor. THANK HEAVENS.
Way to start the morning, I was in high alert all day.

Abby and Grover
The weather cooperated much better this day but the crowds were fairly larger. Thus, Seth took Abby and Briggs on some rides while I took Emily on some of the smaller kid rides. Also wandering around were the crew from sesame street! Briggs and Nems wanted nothing to do with them but Abby thought it was the best thing ever that she got to take her Picture with another Abby.

On the Abby Ride
For most of the morning we rode roller coasters, over and over. The kids had a blast!

I think she is having a good time

Nems and I waiting to get on the little ride.

Up we go

Waiting for the shamu express, again.

Carousel again..

On the Abby ride with dad.

Nothing like a group shot with Abby

See Emily screaming? She was so freaked out. My ears are still ringing.
All day Seth had been teasing the kids to go on bigger rides. Abby was really the only one who was tall enough for most, but not all of them. But they would not do it. Finally he convinced them to do this log ride. It was a little intimidating. I didn't want to take them because I thought they would freak out last minute and not go. So nems and I hung out while they waited in line and rode the ride.

Eating some dipping dots while waiting

I was totally shocked but they did it! This is their ride.
There they are...If you look close you can see the back of seth
We later headed to see Azul, the dolphin show. It was awesome and the kids loved seeing all the acrobatics and synchronized swimming. Put dolphins into that and it was pure magic. Another awe and wonder moment.
A little cotton candy before the show

Yum

The one and only shot of us. *Love*

Don't let his standard camera face fool you. He was having a blast.

Look at all those cute faces loving every minute of what they are seeing.

The final dolphin trick...

At the penguin made of trash that has washed ashore

Then it was time for mom to get wet with the kids. I took briggs and Abby on the Rio Loco which was a white water rapid. It was pretty fun an we didn't really get wet until you go under a waterfall. WE all were Soaked!
Getting on the Rio Loco

Abby ready to have some fun

You cant tell but they are wet from head to toe
After the river we headed for the last time to see the dolphins and sea lions by about 3 the kids were done and ready to hit the pool. So that's what we did.

Goodbye Otters

So long dolphins

She didn't even make it to the car before she passed out.

WE then spent the evening at the pool. So much fun! When I was little I would beg my dad to throw me just like this. My kids are no different.
