Hyrum just being to darn cute not to take a picture

July was equally as crazy fun as June. Here is my attempt to capture a portion of it.

Water balloons on the trampoline and Uncle Luke happened to stop by at the right time.

Seth cousin Erin came to town and stayed with us for a few days with her three youngest kids. Their timing was great as cousin camp was already being planned so they got to join in. Cousin camp consists of several consecutive days having fun with the cousins. Sometimes there are themes  but there is always lots of fun happening.

I think most days of cousin camp required a swim suit. We all met one day at Aunt Lindsays pool to gather, eat and play.

One day a water slide was rented and the fun went on and on!!

 Hyrum and Evelynn sat on the side and watched and tried to mangle eachothers faces.

On July 11th 7/11 has free slushy day!!! So we grabbed our swim gear grabbed a slushy and headed to the pool with friends.

The next day was Chick-Fil-A day. If you dress like a cow you get free food. I'm all about free food (if the line isn't too long) and so we spent some time in the morning making costumes. We went inside with all the other crazies and picked up some free yummy goodness. We only bought one meal (seth wasn't with us) and then headed to his office to have some lunch with dad.

We also stopped at PetSmart to look around. The kids love doing this from time to time. They have a doggie day care you can watch. The kids like to say which one they will buy even though they are not for sale.

Hyrum and Maggie are starting to build a relationship. Mostly because Maggie knows where Hyrum is involved a food trail follows.

Seth has spent a lot, a lot, of time working and it left me alone a lot with these crazies. This pic about sums up my life.

We said goodbye to some very dear friends. We have watched our children grow together and Stephanie was my Bosom friend.

Summer means lots and lots of laundry which means mom needs help. Emily was a great helper.

June 2016 at a Glance

The summer was so crazy and so busy it just flew by and I didn't do much by way of blogging about it. With school out we searched for fun.  Here are few of the highlights In June.

Hyrum

We spent a lot of time at the pools of course. Hyrum did not like it the first several times and only sat on the side with mom. But as the summer heated the pools and we went often he got more used to it and finally would get in without crying.

We had some freak June rainstorms and there isn't much better than a hot rain for these kids!

We had some friends who rented out the theatre and invited our family to see Finding Dory. We took one of Brigham's friends along as well. It was a cute movie and something different for the kids. We hardly ever see movies in the theater.

On the way home we stopped to see some long horns that reside near the movies.

We tried to get together with the cousins about once a week this summer. With great grandma living closer now we would all gather at her community pool and swim. She loved watching them all play together and the kids loved running amuck. We also would go back to her apartment and have lunch as she tried to tell stories from her life. It was somewhat successful as attention spans are limited.

When we redid our side fence I kept a lot of the old wood as I had some projects in mind. I finally embarked on one. I replaced the main pieces on the back. Sanded it, sawed off the rotted bottom pieces, added some hooks and turned it into Brigham's new head board.

 I love how it turned out.

To finish off the month the Kids went to Vacation Bible school at Brigham's old preschool. It was so neat! Abby and Briggs had so much fun. They did so many crafts, games, instruction, music, snacks etc. Not a bad way to spend a few hours a day for 4 days! The theme was deep sea discovery and they are still singing the songs they learned there.

Back in June Briggs was over at a friends house playing. Not 45 minutes later I got a call stating Briggs needed medical attention and stitches ASAP. I loaded all the kids (plus one, Abby had a friend over) and headed to asses the situation. On the way over I called Seth and Abby's friends mom to start lining things up. When I arrived it  took  just one look and I knew we were urgent care bound.

He was covered in blood and the wound was rather deep and big. I grabbed a bag of ice and off we went with 4 other kids in tow. Apparently he and his buddy were playing with kids golf clubs and were standing side by side and he got whacked. It was a complete accident :(

Seth met us at Urgent care and thankfully Abby's friends mom did too and was able to pick her up. 

They applied some numbing meds and cleaning meds and it was time to wait. The other kids were restless and hungry because by now it was dinner time. Every mom bone in me wanted to stay and hold him. I was with Brigham the last time he had to have stitches and it was rather traumatic. I knew he would be much better for Seth and despite my desire to stay I took the other kids home for dinner as I paced and paced with anxiety.

According to Seth he was a trooper. The numbing meds didn't work great so they ended up having to give him a shot of numbing medicine. The wound was a pretty straight line and only 3 stiches were needed as it closed up really well.

After a few hour ordeal he finally made it home. Bruised, bloodied and stitched up.

Instead of taking him back to the doctor to take the stiches out we decided to have Seth do it. It was pretty easy especially since we have been through it before.

All pulled out and looking good. We are now about 2 months past this and he still has a pretty good scar on both his forehead and check. But he looks handsome no matter what and he has a good story to tell.

This kid loves Nachos

In June our Church was able to purchase discount tickets to the Rangers game. We decided to make it a family adventure. My sister Cassidee, her Husband Dalton and the kids came as well. It really was a lot of fun. The Rangers didn't do so well but I always love seeing the joy in the kids eyes when they experience things they don't often get to do. I am pretty sure all of the kids favorite part was the food! Especially Briggs and his Nachos. Thank goodness it was also dollar hot dog night :)

 I really had a good time and the weather ended up being nice considering it was June. Love spending time with the family!

Abigails first and last 2015-2016

Abby at the beginning of the school Year for Third Grade!

 Abigail's Award ceremony was a few days before the end of school. She was so cute and nervous. She received an award for showing initiative and honor. This is she receiving the award from the school Principle. My how she is growing up! 3rd Grades over Hello 4th Grade!
