Creepy

For those inquiring minds....

The doll is named Creepy because....when Abby got her, she was kinda creepy looking, she was big and had weird eyes. Seth and I just took to calling her Creepy (prior to Abby really talking) and so when Abby could talk, Abby followed suit. Unfortunately the name stuck and thus we call her Creepy as if it was like calling her Tina or Becky.

The End.

Repeat after me...

I am quickly discovering how careful I have to be around Abby these days. She repeats everything and literally mimics all I do. Here are three examples:

1) The other day I caught Abby lifting up her shirt, pinching the skin to create a bump and trying to feed her baby doll named creepy.

2) This morning she got the tubes to my breast pump and put them under her shirt and said "get the milk out"

3) Every time I change Brigham's diapers she has to change creepy's. She does the whole thing, check for poop, diaper, wipes, cream and clean.

I also cannot believe Brigham is already more than a week old, my how the time flies. He is so good, I am really blessed to have such a relaxed kid. It creates a good balance since Abby is such I pill I can put him down to play with her and he is fine with it. Here are a few pics from the last week.

Heard

Abby likes to watch me change Brigham's diapers and today she said:

"Brigham has a tail"

Priceless

Our Big Boy..

He is finally here. It took a lot of hoping and praying to get the little guy to come but he finally decided to make his appearance. Following is the long tale of his arrival so...skim if you don’t want all the gory details.
Friday morning the 11th of September, I got up at 3am to use the restroom and check on Abby. After rearranging Abby from the position she was in I crawled back into bed and before my head hit the pillow I felt a ‘pop’ and then I was very wet. I wasn’t sure what to expect when my water broke but I definitely knew when it happened. So I woke Seth up and said “Seth my water just broke” and he replied “OK what do you want me to do?” I asked if he could get me a towel, which he did, and then he crawled back into bed. I was like hmmm …really? “Seth you cannot go back to sleep we have to go to the hospital”, “are you sure” “yep pretty sure”, and thus it began. (But I forgive him, it was 3AM)
So we loaded up what we needed, along with poor little Abby and arrived at the hospital about 3:45AM. Seth later took Abby to my dad and Cindy’s where she remained for a few days, props to them. They checked me in and I was being poked and prodded like a prime piece of cattle. I was 1cm dilated, still, and 75% effaced with contractions coming pretty steadily every 3-5 minutes depending on the time of day it was. They were not so bad at first. The first several hours I could mostly talk and breathe through them. The next several hours there was no talking, just deep concentration and breathing. They were painful but I didn’t think they necessitated an epidural. But with all this, there was no progress, except that the contractions were more painful. We kept hoping that the pain meant I was progressing, but unfortunately that was not the case. So by mid afternoon the doc said I still had a long way to go and since I was not progressing, and he didn’t want me to labor a long time due to my prior c-section, that if nothing had happened by late afternoon to expect a c-section. Thus more contractions, more pain, I did have the bloody show, which is a good thing but I guess it didn’t help me any. The last couple of hours were extremely painful. Just as I was about to ask for pain meds they told me the Doc was ready for the C-section but there were two more women in front of me with more urgent cases. Thus, I could get the epidural and use that for the c-section. Or wait an hour and get a spinal which is better and in the mean time take some pills for pain. I opted for the latter and it helped with the first few contractions but then had no effect. 5:30PM rolls around and it’s my turn. They walk me back and my body is theirs. Thankfully everyone was awesome, the nurse was holding my hand and rubbing my shoulders as I got the spinal and then it was time for the show to begin. This brought back so many memories of more traumatic times it was hard to concentrate on the present. They brought Seth in and he calmed me down immensely. What a great job he did. At 5:59PM Brigham was born and the first thing I hear the Nurse say was “Holy Buckets he’s big!” whatever that means but it was funny. My doctor realized then why I was not dilating more, I guess due to his size but, he was also sunny side up (his nose facing my belly button rather than my spine) which he said in most cases those babies never come. I heard Brigham cry and then shed a few tears myself and waited as they put humpty back together again. Soon they brought him over to show me and he was beautiful. He weighed 8lbs 12 Oz and is 21 Inches long. He has lots of hair which was a nice surprise and has a great personality already showing through. He has already brought us so much joy. Not 30 minutes out of surgery and I was holding him in recovery and he lifted his head up, he’s a strong littler bugger. There were so many new experiences with him, in many ways it was like having our first child because everything was so different. Abby loves her little brother and she always wants to kiss him.
Thanks to everyone who visited and helped out. The recovery process has been a little harder this time around but it’s coming along. My body is definitely different. I feel like an umpa loompa. I thought I would drop some weight right away but all I have lost so far is 8lbs 12 oz. Here’s to a long weight loss program….
More pics to come later

39 Weeks!

Really? I cannot believe I still haven't given birth! Heck, I have a billion stretch marks and wonder is it possible to get more? Then BAM there's another. I physically feel OK other than recovering from being sick the last 5 days. The Antibiotics the doc gave me seem to have worked but I am still coughing and blowing my nose a lot. I am extremely hot all the time. I sweat bad when I am not pregnant but, man alive, I feel like I am swimming half the time. I sometimes have to go lay on the couch in the middle of the night directly under the fan and A/C Vent. I don't even like my feet to touch because it makes me so hot. Sometimes I just want to go stick my head in the freezer. For those who know me, you know I usually just drink water at room temp. But no longer, I go through 2 ice trays a day!
Today's check up went so so, still no changes. 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. He did say my cervix (at least I think that's what he said) was soft which is a good thing. However, he is concerned because my blood pressure was up a little and there was protein in my "sample" thus he wants me back in two days to keep on eye on me. He wants to make sure its not Preeclampsia setting in again. I suppose if it is then he will want to take action Thursday. But, if things are fine on Thursday its back for another check up on Monday. So lets just hope I go into labor before Thursday to avoid any of that:)

Labor Day

I don't know many people who had big plans this Labor day, and that includes us. We thought about going on a short trip or possibly going camping and then remembered, "oh yeah I'm 39 weeks pregnant, probably not the best idea." So with no real plans I suggested taking Abby to Cabella's. Its a huge outdoor store with a big Aquarium and a mini-museum of animals (stuffed). Its free and air conditioned. Abby loved it and did really well walking around all by herself. For some reason though, Abby did not like to look through the glass. She much preferred for Seth to lift her above the rail to see. They also have a Rhino head on the wall upstairs that talks. Thus, every time we walked by an animal head on the wall Abby wanted it to talk. It was really funny. Then while we were there, we got a call and were invited to lunch over at Curt and Natalie's. Which was very convenient for us since we were already in the area. Plus, Dan Seth's brother was coming and it was nice to visit with him. Abby got to play with Izzy and Uncle Dan read her books. Not to mention the absolutely yummy food that Natalie made. Of course the picture of Izzy and Dan is the best, we will have to try again with Abby.

The Library

*the pics and videos are from my phone so they aren't that great*

I have been feeling bad about not getting Abby out of the house more, really she just goes to the Gym with me and that's about it. A few weeks ago, we got the city Library pamphlet in the mail which said they had a story time for 2 year olds on Fridays. So for the last few weeks we have been and Abby loves it. She is a lot better than I would have expected. She loves to get the stamp on her hand at the end too. Today was the first day she sat by herself on the floor. I just couldn't bring myself to plop down. But, like I said she did great. However there is another little girl in there named Abigail who doesn't sit still so the mom is always saying her name, Abby gets confused sometimes. You can hear the mom in the video below because her daughter kept jumping on the parachute. To bad Abby wont be able to go for a little bit when Brigham is born.

38 Weeks and Abby

Here it is 38 weeks, and still no baby :( I was sure hoping. Maybe I will get lucky this week! I am still feeling pretty good, just more sluggish than normal. I am starting to swell regularly and my feet feel like they are going to pop any minute. I have increased pressure below but, it could just be because he is bigger. Nights are long but then again so are the days. Life overall is pretty stressful right now but thankfully Seth has been wonderful and Abby is getting better with her tantrums. Between Seth's school, work, church, finding a new place to live, my sister having sudden surgery, and worrying about having a baby, you would think I would have been in stress induced labor by now.......
My 38 week appointment was disappointing, no changes from last week. But he did say that it was no big deal, because he could still come anytime...which again I am hoping is this week in the day time since my doctor is not on call this week. I described some of the pain I was having and he said it was most likely a contraction which is a good sign, my body is prepping...so here's to hoping :)
