Buzz Cut

Briggs has been in dire need of a haircut. I have trimmed here and there, but overall it has ended up like Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber. Poor buddy. I have been waiting for my sister to visit so she could teach me how. She came (more on her visit later) and it was time for his little wig to come off. I was a bit hesitant to do it. I needed to mentally prepare. But I am glad I went through with it. He is such a little man now. I initially attempted to do it. However I really did not understand what I was supposed to do. I can honestly say I have never seen a boy get a haircut. So when I got started I realized I was out of my league and Seth took over. He cut it just how they cut his hair, the method anyway, and did a really good job. Looks like he is the new hair stylist in the family. Briggsy did awesome, he didn't cry once and he actually seemed to enjoy it. All his darker hair is now blond and he is such a towhead now. Don't you think Briggs looks so grown up ?The mop wig (before)He did such a good job!How do you like my haircut? What a stud :)

The only time he fussed the whole time, it was over and he didn't want it to be.

Goof

Every morning we wake up, eat breakfast, and then Abby can watch a show. This particular morning while Abby was watching her show I was in my room doing something. When I came out to check on her this is how I found her perched in front of the TV...She is so funny sometimes.

Bodies

Where to begin? Last Thursday night I was driving home around 9:30pm from splits with the missionaries. I made a quick detour at the store and started home when I come upon two bodies and a motorcycle laying in the middle of the road. Neither person was moving. I stopped my car, put on the hazards (I didn't want anyone to run them over since you know, they were in the middle of the road) and grabbed my phone (thank goodness for cell phones) and called 911.

In the process of dialing 911 I got out of my car and went over to where the people were. They were still not moving and I see lots of blood coming from both of their heads. Of course they were not wearing helmets. By this time others are beginning to get out of their cars and come. So I am talking to the 911 operator explaining what I see telling her details from gender and age to where they are bleeding from. Then for some odd reason she asked what kind of motorcycle it was and I was like Huh? "OK its kinda big and maybe a Harley", I was a little distracted by the two wounded people who were lying there in the middle of the road. I couldn't understand how that was important but, whatever.

By this time the man was beginning to stir. He kept trying to move and get up. His face bloody and gnarly. He kept asking about his wife. So I tried to to tell him to stop moving and wait. Thankfully another guy came and sat by him and told him to calm down and not move. I told the operator that he was stirring but the woman was still not moving. Honestly I thought she was dead.

The operator is asking if I have anything that I can stop the bleeding with and I say I don't think so, and I yell out if anyone has anything. Blank stares. So I ran to my car to see what was there and what I found was a diaper in the trunk. I told her this and she said "I guess that's better than nothing". I was about to go put it on the guy and then, finally, I hear the sweet sounds of sirens. So I waited. I think the sirens were loud enough to stir the woman and her eyes began to flicker and she started to speak but still no movement. Scary.

The police arrived first. My car was still in the road, and one policeman asked who's car it was and I replied it was mine. He asked if I could move it out of the road and I said OK. Then he asked if I saw what happened. I say no but I happened to be the one who was on the phone with 911 and was pretty much the first one there. To which he says OK you can go home.

I was like hmmm OK. He was actually kind of rude about it. So I get in my car and drive home. Having no idea what happened, slightly in shock and feeling like I am going to vomit due to the adrenaline.

Kinda anti climatic I know but it was one crazy night.

Fun in the Sun

These days we spend a lot of time at the splash park. Its so nice to have it so close to us. A playgroup from church meets there most Wednesdays and then some Friends and family from an old ward come up on Thursdays. So we are there at least 2 days a week sometimes more. Thankfully Abby is getting more brave as her friends show her how to do it. I am so proud of her. She loves to get a mouthful of food and then go into the water. Last week I had brought some cucumbers and ranch and her face was all white from the dripping ranch and water. Briggs likes it too. However he wants me to hold him the whole time and he gets pretty worn out most days. So much fun. She wouldn't even go near this thing a few weeks ago

Look Comfy?

Lately Abby has had a lot of sleeping issues. Sometimes she wont fall asleep until really late. For instance when I got home from work at 10:30pm last night she was still awake and remained so until about 12:15AM. I know kill me. Then sometimes we wake up and she is in bed with us. Then again the other night I came home late from work and she had fallen asleep on the floor in the hall way. She is so random and has us pulling out our hair sometimes. Then top that off with Briggs who rarely sleeps more than 2 hours straight, I wonder how we function. So to find her in her bed was a great relief. But look at her. Feet against the wall, hands down her pants, turned sideways. No wonder she has trouble staying in bed.

He is getting so big and chunky. Don't you just want to squeeze him? He is 8 1/2 months and counting. More to come from his 9 month check up.

For Jess

I know I have been neglectful in my duties. It was a goal of mine to take pictures with Abby and her tigger each year to show her growth. Last year I took them but I don't think I posted and thanks to my buddy Jess who each year reminds me... here they are. I would have forgotten completely this year if not for her. For some reason I couldn't find year 1 pics...but here is what I have. I cannot believe how big she has gotten. In the hospital6 Months old2 Years old Three years old
