32 Weeks and Counting

I have been starting to feel some things that I have never really experienced before. One being acid indigestion or reflux or both. I wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air ready to vomit. It burns like mad and keeps me up for a little while. The other night it was so bad I wanted to do a tracheotomy on myself in order to not have to breath through my throat. Thus I am now trying to sleep elevated, which makes my back hurt and only decreases the acid in my throat slightly. I am not sure but my body is doing weird things, like the other night when I was up all night due to dry heaving, bathroom breaks and acid in my throat. Thank goodness Abby had stayed the night at Grandmas because I didn't even get into bed until 5am. But unfortunately this has become a common occurrence over the last 4 nights. I'm exhausted. Other than that I am starting to be slower and becoming swollen on a more frequent basis. But overall, I am just glad he is still cooking in the womb.
I did have my 32 week check up today and all is well. Yeah! I did explain the above to him and he thinks I might have some gastro blah blah blah infection. Which the Acid indigestion is making worse and sometimes is made worse by dairy products. Thus I have to abstain from dairy for a few days (which is mostly what I eat) take a few over the counter products, stop taking my pre-natal's and baby aspirin and only drink clear liquids. Even though it will be tough, if I could get a good nights sleep I am ready and rearing to try anything.
Abby laying a big wet one on me. She can be kinda aggressive sometimes so I have to watch out.

Abby all dressed and ready for another day at church.

Time to Sing

The other day Abby and I were singing, more like me singing and Abby acting but I was able to catch a few on video. Celine was not available for recording sorry. Also for some reason when uploaded to blogger its louder than on the camera so check your volume or you might get blasted by me. During the song you can see Abby looking back and saying Daddy, she loves for Seth to watch her.

These are just a few pictures of Abby from Sunday.

The Terrible Two's

I have decided that the terrible two's is not a correct statement. Thus I have renamed them the Horrific Two's. I really thought it was bad 2 months ago, but boy was I wrong. I knew Abby had some personality mixed with the stubbornness of a mule but never thought she could do some of the things she does. Daily there is at least one 45 minute meltdown where she wails, flails and screams a blood curdling scream, for the entire time. Throw in some biting, kicking, attempts at eating the crib, and of course the kick the crib as hard as you can, and you have an idea. Always once a day but sometimes or most times several times a day. Believe me I have done everything I can think of to try to curb this, but nothing works. Thus I put her in her room until she stops. Really she only does this with me, which is infuriating. She does it some with Seth but not to the degree with me. Why oh why is all I have to say. Sometimes I laugh and sometimes I cry depending on my day but it truly is frustrating. Who knows what sets her off, sometimes I have no idea but others I know its because I am not giving her exactly what she wants. The joys of mother hood. I have officially decided not to take her with me grocery shopping because of a completely awful and humiliating experience with her. Not to mention I cant take it physically either, sometimes she bolts and I have to chase after her. Not good for the whole pregnancy thing. Or one swift kick from her and Brigham is born. Believe me she has come very close. Anyway.....if you have any suggestions let me know. One last tid bit, she can fake it with the best of them. There is a definite difference. For instance she was throwing one of her classic tantrums in the car. The entire ride at full throttle, then we pulled into the complex and went over a speed bump and she says "Yee Haw" and laughs. Then as soon as she says it she's back at it with the over the top tantrum. Little goof.
This is not to say she is awful all the time because she is awesome the rest of the time. In the between time she is loving, sweet and keeps me entertained. I suppose that's another reason its hard because she can be so good. She says some of the funniest things sometimes. Pretty much everyday when you ask her what she wants to do she says "soggy" which interpreted means Sonic. She is definitely her Fathers daughter. She also loves to drink Seth's ginger ale, you can pretty much bribe her with that for anything. Also for some reason she loves to watch the guys who come mow the lawn in the complex, if I am lucky enough for them to come while she is awake I am thankful. I open her window and she occupied for a good 45 minutes. She is so cute in the mornings too, we wake up, sit on the couch with a bowl of cereal and juice and watch some Backyardigans. Of course she reminds me if I forget to get her blankey so she can snuggle. Overall I love her madly even though she drives me mad sometimes.

A day in the life of Abby in Pictures
Happy as a clam on her scooter (thanks grandma Jody)
Time to come inside....the ensuing tantrum. She stayed at the bottom of the stairs for a while like this.Taking some photos in her new shirt and being shy...
There was also a tantrum thrown after this because after 15million times of showing the pictures to her I turned the camera off and that's just the spark she needed. I should have grabbed some pictures but I was too worn out.

30 Weeks

30 weeks. The same point where I was admitted to the hospital with Abby. I cannot believe I am already here, and that I am not in the hospital. I have been blessed immensely with this pregnancy so far. Although as I get bigger I am requiring more sleep, which is hard to do with a two year old. But Seth has been really good about taking care of Abby and letting me rest. He's a great dad and of course hubby.

I had a doctors appointment yesterday and all was well. My BP was on track, I passed the glucose test, as well as the urine sample. His heart was reading at 160 beats and overall, I was ecstatic to be walking out of the doctors office without tears streaming down my face. I have gained a good amount of weight, give me a few weeks and I will be comparable to the Goodyear blimp. Pretty much from here on out is new territory and I will be experiencing a different part of pregnancy. Wish me luck.

Happy 4Th

As I am not a super fan of this particular holiday, we didn't do anything to go "all out" for it. Especially since you can't light fireworks and the fact it doesn't get dark until like 8:30 which is past Abby's bedtime. But we did get together with my Dad and Cindy and had ourselves a 4Th of July feast and enjoyed one another's company. My Dad and Cindy got Abby a cute little 4Th outfit which she wore with pride and I had got her a dress like 4 months ago to wear to church; Although its almost too small now. Here are a few pics of our weekend.

Saturday:Abby wanted to see the pictures so bad I wasn't able to get to many from afar.Abby found some socks and decided they were tights.Seth thinks Abby looks just like me in the above picture...what do you think?
Abby and my dad (papa) at the feast.
Sunday:

Melted

Today while eating breakfast with Abby, this is the conversation we had:

Abby: "Mommy"

Lacey: "Yes Abby"

Abby: " I wuv you"

Lacey: "I love you too!!!!"

This is significant because this is the first time she has told me completely on her own, without prompting, and no previous mention of it... since we had just woken up. I was so speechless and excited I gave her a big hug. I think she liked this reaction because then she told me like 20 more times. One of the joys of being a mom. I melted.

Abby's First Pony...

Abby's first pony tail that is. I was so excited when I was able to pull her hair back into a pony. I thought the day would never come. Through out the day pieces eventually fall out, especially after nap time but I thought it was so cute.
This is Abby amid throwing a tantrum. She was not happy of course. But sometimes its funny to us, I think sometimes if I didn't just laugh at theses moments I would just cry, which happens too.

Don't mind my big belly in there, this is Abby calming down.

Here are just a few pics. I discovered my new favorite store. Carters.... I didn't know they actually had stores. Seth I were on a mission to find Abby some new shoes since she needs a new pair every week almost and we were not having luck. But we happened upon Carters and well I didn't just walk out with shoes. I got her a new pair of shoes, a dress, two pairs of Capri's and two new shirts for under $40.00. The outfit she is wearing in the pic was 8 bucks total. I am not sure I will shop anywhere else now.

The Shower

*My step mom Cindy made this super Cute Diaper Cake.*

This past Saturday my friend Maegan threw me a baby shower. At first I was reluctant because 1. this is my second and 2. I hate being the center of attention. But, I was convinced since, 1. due to circumstances I did not have a shower with Abby and 2. I was having a boy and needed some things. But my fears of being the center of attention really were for naught, since no one really came. I think it must have been a really bad weekend or something. But, at least there was lots of good food, family and a few friends. I got some cute clothes, custom burp cloths, a few blankets and a really cute taggy blanket. Thanks to those who know, for all the hard work that was put into this. I did not get as many pictures as I wanted which is surprising, but here are a few that came out. This is just some of the food, I neglected to get a picture of the whole ensemble. Here I am being a goof but whats new there? Some of the really cute clothes I received. Thanks! This is a really cute "plant" made of onesies and socks that Maegan made.
I have to say I was pretty impressed by this one. My friend Cam, and in a round about way part of the family, made this designer burp cloth. For those who don't know, we are 99.9% sure his name is going to be Brigham Mason Whitworth. Seth wanted him to have the initials BMW (he thought it would be cool and I didn't care) not to mention its the only name we like. I almost don't want to use it, its too cool.

Feeling the Nerves

Even though I am 28 and 1/2 weeks pregnant, the reality that there will be another little life to take care of hasn't quite settled in. However as time passes and I get new things for him, its beginning to create an internal frenzy of "holy crap we are going to have two kids!" Such as today when a new car seat pad came in the mail. Instead of buying a new car seat I bought a new cover which is more boy friendly. I did only have two patterns to choose from but I actually like it better than I did online.I also had this ebay gift certificate that my mom gave Abby for her Birthday, but I couldn't figure out what to buy. When I had Abby I borrowed my sisters Breast Friend and loved it. But now that she is in Utah I cant quite do that again, not to mention she just had her baby and needs it. So she suggested to look for one of those. I found one at half the price of retail that has never been used. Its not exactly boy colors but I don't care since I wont be toting it around. No worries to those who think "what a bad mom to use her daughters b-day gift" I got her something else that is equal.

All in all its the little things like this that make me realize how different life will be very shortly. Especially when I have my baby shower that my friend Maegan is throwing me, it will really start to weird me out. Anyway....
