Easter

I realize that I am posting about Easter in June; better late than never right? We had a good Easter this year. We woke up to baskets, went to church, had an excellent service, went to my dad and Cindy's for dinner and had an Easter egg hunt. There was probably more but, since it been so long I cannot remember. Its always fun to watch the kids on Holidays.

Why are kids so cute when they are all dressed up for church. I cannot help but take pictures every week. Here are a few of my favorites from the last few months...

March of Dimes March for Babies

In April I participated in the March of Dimes March for Babies for the second year in a row. Thank you to everyone who donated to the cause. I had lots of donations over 50 dollars, plus all the 5's, 10's and 20's really added up. I really appreciate those who donated.
There were thousands of people there! Its really something else to participate in an event like this, so many people walking (or in some cases running) for one purpose. There were many great stories and some very touching experiences. Its really hard to read t-shirts where the child didn't make it. I cannot even comprehend that kind of loss and thats a great reason to raise money. The money raised goes to research and tools need to help preemie babies survive.
Again my sister Cassidee walked with me. Its becoming a new tradition, and I saw my friend Crysta there as well. Good Times

Coming Attractions

It feels like forever since I have been able to blog. Its weird, I think I am a little addicted. I finally purchased a device that will transfer my pictures for me. Still no desktop computer yet, but at least my pictures wont continue to build and build. I still have Easter pictures for Pete's sake. So, as soon as I have the time, posts will come fast and often. Keep checking back:)

Dealing with the police...again!

Still incapable of downloading pictures. It is utterly frustrating. So many things have happened, like Abby and Seth's birthday's, fun at the splash park, cuties in Sunday clothes, the march of dimes march for babies etc...
Some of the strangest things happen to me as you might recall from this post entitled bodies.
The other night while at work before we closed the doors we took a head count of employees vs the number of cars in the parking lot. We noticed there was one car out there that shouldn't be.
While we finished up the night and began to leave at 1030pm I noticed that the car was still there and also not parked inside the lines. I kept staring at it because something seemed off. I then told my manager that I thought someone was in the car. She didn't think so. I persisted and I said "no I really think someone is in that car." From where we were standing with poor lighting it was hard to tell but I knew! She thought it looked as though the seat had been tilted forward and it was the head rest. So we decided to get in our cars with the doors locked and check it out. You never know what kinda creeps could be hanging about.
The result? There was a lady hunched over the steering wheel completely passed out with open food containers in her lap. I got out my phone ready to call 911. We knocked on the passenger side of the window with no response. I then called 911. We walked around to the drivers side and knocked on the window with no response. At this point I am thinking "heart attack!"
So while I am beginning to tell the 911 operator the details Holly pulls on the door handle and its unlocked and it opens. We are both right there and the lady suddenly comes to and flails her arms and scares the daylights out of us. Literally my heart skipped a beat. We tell her we are concerned for her and ask if she is OK. To which she is saying "yes I am fine I just fell asleep." But, adamantly saying she is OK. The 911 operator asks me if I can smell alcohol and I cant 1. I cant smell because I am clogged and 2. I walked away a little to not give away the fact that I was on the phone with 911. But I manage to get from Holly that Yes, she smells something.
I convey all this to the operator and the lady decides its time to go and starts her engine. The operator asks if its her car and I say yes. He says "can you delay her without putting yourself in danger?" and I said possibly? So Holly knocks on her window again and ask some further questions about her health and where she is going but our stalling has run it course. She is ready to leave so the operator tells me to watch where she goes. Thankfully as she is pulling out the police arrive and cut her off.
One talks to her while the other takes our statements. We leave and the next day they come and get written statements from us of the events for their case against her.
The conclusion? The officer told me that if we hadn't stopped her she would have killed someone for sure, she was more than double the legal limit drunk!
What a way to end a night.

4 Years Old

Today Abby is four! I cannot believe how the time has passed. Was she ever a baby? When she woke up this morning I asked her what day it was and she thought it was mothers day! Too cute. I then told her it was her birthday and she said "mom is my birthday this week?" Silly girl. She really enjoyed all my family who sang to her over the phone. She thought it was so funny! I am not sure she grasps the birthday concept yet. She knows she is four and not three, however every time some one said happy birthday to her she would say something to the effect of "Happy birthday to you too!"
Abby has been such a joy in my life. Despite my constant worries and stress with her, she is such a riot. I am always laughing at her antics and the things she says. She loves to dance and especially shake her fanny. She is constantly on the go and typically the first two things out of her mouth when she wakes up are 1"Wheres daddy?" and 2 "Where are we going?" She loves to go to the park and also ride her bike. Abby loves going to preschool and I am a little afraid that she isn't going to understand when summer break hits. She mostly loves Briggs and is so sweet to him if he is hurt (at least when its not by her doing.)
Abby loves movies, dolls, playing candy land and any game that she can coax me into. But she especially loves when Seth comes home from work. She loves for him to swing her around and play hide and seek. Abby really can be so sweet that it is heart melting. She likes to say the prayer and really does a wonderful job. She has participated in a lot of firsts this year, such as school, programs at school, riding bikes, home work, being in primary, buckling herself in the car and on on on the list goes.
Abby is my strong spirited daughter. I love her and I want her to stay little forever.

Postal

Our computer took a nose dive. We thought it was the hard drive so we bought a new one. Nope, that was not it. Figures. In my camera are tons of pictures, but I hate loading them on this lap top. Maybe its because all of my pictures are on our desktop thus I hate uploading them somewhere else becasue I will have to move them later. I don't know what it irritates me so, but it does. Nonetheless if we don't have a working desktop computer in the near future I may just have to break down.
I am kind of going postal not having my desktop. I really don't use it a lot but when I do its usually for important things. Not to mention sometimes Seth takes the lap top with him for school so I have no access to a computer at all.
So Much Fun! Also its slow and wont let me post at the moment. Stupid thing. Ggggrrrr.

Sunday Afternoon

After church on Sunday we came home for a little more porch swinging and visiting before we headed for home. Here are the last pictures of our short visit. Thanks again Juen and Darrell.

Sprinkler Fun

After a hot day in Austin we spent the evening watching the kids run in the sprinklers. Brigham wasn't so sure about them. He kept running away. As soon as Abby figured out that it was fun to get wet she was like the energizer bunny. Who needs to go and and visit a ton of places when you have a perfectly good sprinkler.

As you can see from the video Abby also enjoyed swinging on the rope swing. She could have done that all day as well. You can tell that I am an experienced cinematographer because I gauged the distance for filming perfectly.

Dear Liza

While in Austin I was able to meet up with a long lost friend from high school. We haven't seen each other in ten years! Somehow we both ended up in Texas and finally were able to catch up.
As Liza said its amazing that ten years can go by and nothing has changed..yet everything has. So true. She has two beautiful kids now and is still the same gal I loved in High school. Dear Liza, it was great to see you again. I hope we can get together again and lets not make it ten years (by then all my hair may be gray.) Thanks for driving to see me. Hopefully next time we can visit longer and you can meet Abby as well. Love ya!
